2026 Los Angeles Wine Competition Awards

We are so pleased to share some exciting award news with you.

The 2026 Los Angeles International Wine Competition is one of the most prestigious wine competitions in the country. Running for 91 years, 727 wines from 12 countries around the globe were submitted this year. We very selectively entered 10 Keuka Spring Vineyards wines, and what came back this week has exceeded even our own hopes.

Three Best of Class awards. Seven gold medals.
And the highest honor of all: Best Late Harvest Wine in the entire competition.

Understanding the Awards

Wine competitions can feel a little mysterious if you haven’t encountered them before, so we are happy to share what these results truly represent.

Every wine is judged blind, scored on a 100-point scale across Appearance, Aroma, Taste, and Finish. A Gold Medal means a wine scored 90 points or above. That is a meaningful achievement on its own.

A Best of Class award is something rarer still. Among every gold medal wine entered in a given category, judges select a single winner. Just one. To receive a Best of Class is to be recognized as the finest wine of its kind in that entire field of entries.

Above even that, Best of Class winners across related categories then compete for a Best of Division award. Only 7 Best of Division awards were given across all 727 wines entered in the 2026 competition. Our 2024 Late Harvest Riesling earned one of them.

We are deeply honored to share that Keuka Spring Vineyards received three Best of Class awards, including the highest honor in the Late Harvest category.

Feature Results

Best of Division — Best Late Harvest Wine | Best of Class | Gold Medal | 96 Points
2024 Estate Late Harvest Riesling

To be named Best Late Harvest Wine and earn one of only 7 Best of Division awards given across 727 wines from 12 countries is a distinction we are truly humbled to receive. The 2024 growing season in the Finger Lakes offered ideal conditions for this wine — fruit harvested late at peak concentration, capturing tropical flavors and natural sweetness beautifully balanced by the region’s signature bright acidity. The result is a wine that opens with sweet meyer lemon, nectarine, guava, and pineapple, moving into a honeyed, rounded mid-palate before finishing with bright, lingering freshness. It is rich and balanced in equal measure, and a wonderful expression of what this place is capable of.

Best of Class | Gold Medal | 94 Points
2024 Classic Riesling

The Classic Riesling is, in many ways, the wine that introduced Keuka Spring Vineyards to the world. Riesling is one of the most competitive categories in any major wine competition, drawing entries from celebrated producers across the country and around the world. To see it standing among the very best in this competition is deeply gratifying. These are the wines that tell the story of this place, and we are proud they continue to do exactly that.

Best of Class | Gold Medal | 94 Points
2024 Classic Traminette

Traminette is a grape we hold close to our hearts. It is expressive, aromatic, and beautifully suited to the cool climate of the Finger Lakes. This Best of Class recognition is a wonderful affirmation of what makes this region, and this wine, so special.

These results are a celebration of the Finger Lakes, of the land and climate that shape every vintage, and of the craft poured into every bottle that leaves our cellar. They are also a celebration of our amazing winemaking team. Their tireless devotion across every growing season is something we are deeply grateful for, and these awards are theirs to share.
