2023 CROOKED LAKE RED

Cellar Finds
$19.99 / bottle (750mL)

“Crooked Lake,” the original name that early settlers gave to Keuka Lake, graces the label of this smooth red wine. The little-known Noiret grape imparts beautiful cherry and plum notes to the blend. St. Croix and Marechal Foch add complexity, body, color, and spice.

We de-stem the harvested grapes and perform daily rack-and-returns (called délestage) along with morning and evening punch-downs to extract more fruit, tannin, and color for the finished product. Malolactic fermentation softens the mouthfeel of the wine while preserving the vibrancy of the fruit flavors.

Tasting Notes

Crooked Lake Red is the perfect everyday wine. We leave just a touch of residual sugar to highlight the lovely natural wild strawberry and hibiscus notes and round out the mid-palate and finish. Soft and full with a touch of acid on a long and satisfying finish. It is a versatile choice that appeals not only to red wine lovers but also to white wine drinkers seeking an approachable and delightful red. Serve very lightly chilled.

Food Pairing
Enjoy Crooked Lake Red outdoors and in, with barbecued and grilled meats, pasta with red sauces, and pizza.
